It tells a story of a boy who dreamed of heroic travels like his childhood idol. But life takes a course that never let him accomplish his dream of world travel and exploration. Before he knew it, he was old, grumpy and very lonely man. This silent, but very dramatic and emotional story of a person’s life from childhood to youth and middle age to marriage and even death of a life partner is absolutely brilliant in how it shows that life is full of disappointments and drama, but one can still find happiness and learn to be happy with less. Also, one should never give up his dreams.
...a house that sails through the air, opening up new routes in life to people who thought they were stuck in their loneliness.
The other time I wanted to catch UP with the classmates but failed, I caught it last week instead, together with Khai, Rene and her friend (: We went to watch at Cathay Cineleisure in 3D!!! I have no other way to put it. Thoroughly entertaining, extremely touching, brilliantly animated, hilariously funny, excitingly adventurous and flawlessly told. I just had to say that UP was bloody awesome, and I absolutely loved it. It may have been a short animation of a hundred and two minutes but it brought out different levels of meanings and life lessons that you can take away from it, on top of being an enjoyable and funny show. Like what it takes to keep a promise and the value of freindship just to name a few.
It was funny, touching, sad, hopeful and meaningful all at once. It’s no surprise or wonder I was sobbing through towards the end of the show! Im pretty SURE I wasnt the only one eyy? hehe. If you haven’t already watched it, please please do.
This movie has a lot of heart. For that alone it’s Oscar-worthy. That's my rating.
On a sidenote, I totally love the colour scheme of the huge mass of balloons that takes the house up! Could that be my wedding’s colour theme, pretty please? Hahaha! and I've got inspiration to start doing my very own "little adventure" scrapbook. Life events created with all the loved ones. Exciting! Imagine flipping those pages ten, twenty years down the road... Sure will give you a smile... probably tears of joy too.
To those who has gotten some sort of scrapbook as a lil present before, remember, it's priceless and worth a lifetime! Don't just leave it to collect dust, continue building memories :D
Alright my time is up. Back to the boring boring notes now. Management paper up next.
Have a lovely Friday everyone.
Lots of love, Nin.
