Life's been a joy. I smile to work every single day despite knowing how boredom can ruin everything. haha! First time working in an A/B1/2 Class ward. Superr boring (can almost freeze to death) when there's nothing to hands on. Anyway, I have been on afternoon shift for the past three days. Everyday, I deal with babies. Mind you, it's new born babies. okay. they are specifically called infants (: I get to feed/hold/care those infants that are barely 3 hrs old. how cool is that? As fragile as they can be, no worries, im gentle enough okay! 2 more days and im done with the Obs.

In addition, today was eventful. Reported for duty and then was greeted by Pizza Hut! One of the patients got discharged today and both she and her husband bought 3 boxes of pizza with garlic breads for the staff, just to show their appreciation. Although as a student nurse, I may not have done anything great. But knowing that the patient appreciate us, nurses, just made my day. You'll get what I mean if you are a nurse yourself. It doesnt have to be in a form of gift. A smile is all it takes ((:
Moving on, lecturer showed us a real fresh placenta today. And we get to touch it with our hands (gloved of course!). bloody, slimy, sticky substance. I'll leave it up to you to imagine okay?

Placenta: In lay man's term, a membranous vascular organ where the infant sits in the mother's womb for 9 months. It is expelled after the infant is born.

Next up was the Fire Drill Exercise. Cool stuff. A Fireman came into the ward and rings the alarm and the staff nurses responded accordingly. It was only an exercise, I cant really imagine the real situation. All the staff will be running around, giving instructions and trying to rescue babies and the mummys. Just imagine that!

Everything went as per normal in the ward after that. Im suppose to be outside, but when boredom strikes, I go inside the nursery and play with those lil ones. ahhhhhh. they are the bundles of joy! (to think of it, I dont mind working there for the rest of my life! hehs:) LOVE LOVE LOVE.

Lastly, MIMI lost her ezlink card on the way home. Went to accompany her search for it, but nowhere to be found. Sad sad agitated Mimi went home feeling depressed. tsk tsk. Took the usual route 66 to TekKa and then 23-ed home.

I'm superr duperrr shagged right now. Pardon me if there's any mistakes in this entry. I'm on morning shift tmrow. Scheduled to be in the Nursery. Another day with crying lovely babies. yeay!
